| This is the sale of what was a very reliable 406 estate. It has had new cam belt and new brake discs and pads front, new shoes, pads discsdrums rear. ...> Its currently off road SORN and is being sold as seen for repair. The only issue with the car is the ABS rings appear to be slipping which causes the ABS to judder under too much pressure on the break. The ABS rings are for sale on eBay and appear to be simple to fit for very little cost but I have not had the chance to do this. Currently the car is at a friend’s house and we need to move it ASAP. I think the car is a bargain and we have used it for a long time and has been 100% reliable. I would estimate the millage at 138k to 140k, I’ve not had chance to take the exact reading. This model comes with climate control which I think is fantastic as you just dial in the temperature and it does the rest. Peugeot 406 LX HDI(90) Estate for sale spares or repair. The car runs fine and has an M.O.T till July 2012 but needs some TLC and some work done for it ...> to pass the next one (hence spares or repair) this model has AC(works fine),EW all round(although drivers side window is broken) C/D player,Automatic Lights.Tow Bar,Roof Rack. It starts 1st time with no smoke and is very economical there is 200k+ miles on the clock but still runs fairly smooth considering. The only other small problem with it is at some point diesel has been spilt in the car and so has a slight smell in the car which I`m sure could easily be fixed with a good cleaning. Buyer to collect,Cash on collection as stated it can be driven away as it has a valid MOT. The reason for sale- company car and I have to pay insurance on my own ( is bit strange)I just can afford it to pay for 2 cars!!I bought this car in 2010 when my little boy was born-very helpful car with all the bulky items also I have a lovely black Lablador, She traveled with everywhere but in boot (loads space for her)The car can have a few her hair Sorry!! but I will do deep clean to get rid off it!! Peugeot 406 2.0 Hdi with the very desirable 110 Bhp engine. I bought this car nearly two years ago.Initially as a stop gap,but it`s reliability,economy ...> and comfort has made me keep it for much longer! The car was initially registered to Arriva Peugeot Main Dealer as their first of the facelifted 406 demonstration cars,(it`s still wearing the original number plates). It was bought by the first private owner at 3 months old.He had the car from 1999 - 2010 to when I bought it. The car has only covered 90000 miles which is nothing for a 1999 diesel car. Currently MOT`d until mid July and Road Taxed until August As far as bodywork is concerned,it does have minor supermarket car park dinks/light scratches but nothing major,it`s how I bought it myself and it`s never bothered me. The car has the digital air conditioning which actually does kick in-a rarity on a car this age! It has power steering,electric windows and mirrors.There`s also a 6 cd changer in the boot. The engine runs extremely well ,sounds and performs just as it should.It doesn`t use/leak oil or coolant. It returns 40-55mpg depending if you`re around town or on the motorway. The last service I had done was all filters and the oil along with a full clutch kit fitted too,that was 10000 miles ago.Other than that a new battery a year ago. Here is my Peugeot 406 hdi 90 for sale with fantastic fuel economy alloy wheels a clean interior and only covering 112,000 miles which is regularly serviced ...> will last another 100,000 mile. The car finished metallic red the contrasting grey interior its starts first time off of the key and is a pleasure to drive . I have owned the car since september 2011 needed a run around the car comes with 4 months tax and 9 months m.o.t, this car has been very well looked afer and the body work is in good condtion with no rust, but does have slight crease on the near side, this is quite an economical car for its size and averages 47 miles per gallon and in these times the is perfect for long journeys or commuting it has never let me down and in my opinion is a very good car, I,m happy for you to inspect the car before you buy for more info ive been informed the egine is a bit noisy so will sell as spares or repair Please call me on 07980006427 Can all time waisters please avoid bidding for this car as i will report you to ebay and you will recieve negative feedback X | £475.00 |

Since then it has done 45000 miles in two years. I have been very pleased with it except for the front disk brakes which I will come to later. It's most oustanding features are fuel economy and refinement. On my 40 mile commute covering A roads and fast dual carriageway, the 406 averages 54mpg. I think that is an excellent figure for a car of this size, (the lowest I ever got was 49mpg). ......4th gear overtaking performance is very good. Standing start acceleration is not as good as an equivalent petrol, but then that's the same for the majority of diesels. Refinement is also excellent. At 70mph the engine is doing 2250rpm, indeed at 100mph it's doing just 3100rpm. It just loves to cruise at very high speeds, 100mph feels just like 70mph. This car has been, by a great margin, the BEST car I have ......my life and always owned second hand ones, but this is definitely the best second hand car I have ever owned. I believe that the image that Peugeots and Citroen's have as unreliable French cars with lots of issues is not always justified. It's actually model dependent. It has started first time every day throughout this time, is economical, especially on long runs, comfortable, quiet and a pleasure to drive. The electronic climate control keeps the interior environment pleasant regardless of what the weather is doing outside - it is a real cocoon. However, there have been many niggles. The windscreen wipters are computer-controlled and don't ......them off!. The boy trim (little plastic crhome strips) fall off regularly, and the front passenge seat squeaks when not occupied, which is most of the time. I have had many small problems of this nature for about two years. They are annoying, but do not detract from the overall value of having a reliable car. Have now just clocked up 130,000 Miles. So feel qualified to talk about this. The car is quite heavy on brakes. These need to be replaced fairly regularly. The trim, in particular plastic overlays around the windows is getting tatty, creased and breaking off. The paintwork has lasted well and the interior upholstery is also wearing well. I have had the clutch control cable break once, this appears to be ......indicator stalk as well, also a common problem. I have also had the complete exhaust system replaced, very expensve, especially the catalyst. The front tyres also need replacing after about 14K, because of weight of engine and power steering. Having said all this, the fuel economy is excellent, usually 50MPG. The load space is excellent, throw everything in and the airconditioning is ok, just replaced the condesor on it, it had a leak.
