I think the clutch took about six hours and the mirror took about two hours, although I did wait three days for parts coming before I could book the car in. The first 6 month or 6000 mile service (which ever comes first) is free. The second service is due at 12,000 miles but at the moment I only have 8,000 miles on the clock. The interior is co-ordinated with a darker green velour and dark green dashboard and door trims, which makes for very pleasant and calm surroundings when driving the car. It has alloy wheels and air conditioning and central locking. There is also a feature which can be turned on to automatically lock the car when you drive away, so no-one can open the doors from the outside, however this can be a bit annoying when you are picking up passengers, if you are like me and forget it is on they can't get in until you release it. The boot is very spacious and you can buy two extra seats to go in here to make the car a seven seater, however these cost about £300 and as I don't really need them I haven't bought any. The middle seat in the back of the car has a proper seat belt rather than a lap belt. The first weekend we got the car we drove from Northumberland to Lincolnshire without any problems. I don't know how many miles per gallon I get (or should that be miles per litre these days) but I usually put £40 of Diesel in and get approximately 400 miles. Most of the journeys I make are quite short i.e. to work and parents houses which are between one and three miles, however at lease once a week I do a fifty mile round trip to see my daughter, and usually once a month I do a fifty mile round trip to Metro Centre or Newcastle to go shopping.The things I like about the car:Alloy Wheels (except when it comes to cleaning them)Five disc CD playerLights on the sun visor mirrors, even the drivers side (although I don't why I certainly couldn't put my lipstick on whilst driving!)Automatic headlights Display board with temperature, time and date, (I love the way it tells you when it is three degrees or below that there is a possibility of ice)The glass roof with electric sunblind (This is very handy for romantics who want to look at the night sky with the one they love, watching the rain when you are stuck in a traffic jam, or what I mostly use it for, when you have a tall passenger, if you open the sun blind there is more head room)It is very smooth to drive and the ABS system is second to none.The best thing about the car is the air conditioning; I don't know how I ever lived without it.Things I don't like about the carBoth front seats have arm rests and although I hate these I feel it only fair to say my husband loves them when driving and my father in law loves them when in the passenger seat, so although they really annoy me, some people may say they are a selling feature of the car.There are cupholders everywhere, on the back of the front seats in pull down tables, beside the hand brake, the middle back seat folds down to a table and there are massive pockets in the doors for bottles etc. I feel these are a complete waste of space and they just gather dust, as I do not drink in the car.Repairs and ServicingI have had to have a new clutch fitted and also one of the electric door mirrors was sticking when the car was locked. However both of these jobs were done under warranty at my local Peugeot Dealer in less than a day. Having been driving a Rover 45 for the previous 2 years you can imagine my joy and excitement upon seeing the gleaming Peugeot slowly revealed to me as my manager raised the underground carpark shutters. I honestly thought I was being given the wrong car - it was immaculately presented and I was over the moon when I had a quick look round and noticed the party ......had more trips to the Peugeot garage than I did to the petrol garage. Advantages: Spacious, Very Economical, easy to park, long distance comfortDisadvantages: The interior finish is a bit plasticy and not terribly durable This is my company car, as a service engineer I need space for tools and parts, comfort and economy. The 2.0 litre diesel engine can return (by my figures) 55 + miles per gallon, meaning that I don't have tostop for fuel more than 2 or three times per week. if this sounds excessive, I have to date done 60,000 miles in just under 22 months, so I think I can say I've given it a good test drive! The stereo is good for a stock item, six speakers, 20 ......Brakes are top notch, air con a great bonus, especially on those damp or hot days. When people see how much kit #I load into the boot they are stunned, and the engine seems to cope well with a heavy load. I tow my sailing boat with it, It is easy to forget that it is there, so I may need to get a bigger boat! Oil consumption is very good, I seldom need to top up between services, although the book says that it will burn 500mls per 5000 miles, I have ... So far no problems, very reliable. Having been on a couple of longish runs (110 miles, 175 & 225) we have found it a relaxing car to drive, and the fuel consumption gets better on long runs. With Peugeot's low emissions, and the low insurance rating (group 6 -7, direct line call it something like group 40, they're a bit odd) it all adds to the economy of the car. Parking is pretty easy, ......essential. Have now used the 6 & 7 seats several times; really limits boot space. Have also used 4 seats, 2 + 1 + 1 to carry long loads +4 people. The kids often ask to sit in the back, even if the second row is vacant. All the kids love the panoramic roof with the electric cover. Can I recommend this as a people carrier? Only if you are leprechauns! If you need to carry under 10-year-olds it's ok. If you need to carry medium to tall people, forget ... Although private buyers, in the majority for this kind of car, often prefer petrol engines, a fair number of SW buyers go for the HDi 90 with 88bhp or the HDi 110 as here, the apparent discrepancy in power output figures being due, as usual, to the difference between mainland European and offshore-island horsepower calculations. Going diesel certainly makes sense in a car like this which is designed to, even if it rarely does, carry a full load of seven varyingly sized occupants (small people in the optional third-row seats if fitted, which they weren't this time) or up to five adults and a pile of luggage. There's simply no arguing with the mid-range pull of the HDi 110 engine with its 188lb/ft of torque wafting in from 1750rpm. This model is by far the best hillclimber in the range, it overtakes smartly, and the fuel consumption, especially on a motorway cruise, is commendably low. So are the CO2 emissions. There would be no other way to get a car with this size of engine and this amount of bulk to a figure so far below 150g/km. The heavier diesel engine does bring in more front-end weight, and, since we've already given mixed opinions about how the petrol cars handle and ride, it's as well to point out right away that the HDI models aren't by any means the sporty ones. The reduction of three insurance rating groups, compared with the two-litre petrol car we tested previously, seems to confirm that. Otherwise, All As Before Obviously, the installation of the diesel engine makes no difference to the general layout, the accommodation or the visibility. The SW is a car which, if carrying four adults, would be better with the small-size middle rear seat removed and the outer ones slid in, to give more elbow room. And there's no chance, from a conventional driving position, of getting any clue as to the whereabouts of the front bumper. The panoramic glass sunroof with its electrically operated shutter, extending beyond the back of the mid-row seats, is still a remarkable thing to find in the standard specification and not as an extra-cost option. Like other 307s, the SW scores high marks for neat instrumentation. And I'm amused that this is one of a number of current models whose computer display panel includes both a digital clock and a "virtual" analogue type. SE versions come with a very full range of equipment, from rain sensor wipers, occasionally rather too sensitive "automatic" headlamps, electric fold-in door mirrors, an electrochrome interior mirror and storage trays under both front seats. Options include a £915 black-and-white satellite navigation system with radio/CD and GSM phone. Without repeating too much of what we've said before, it's still the case that, what with one thing and another, these are well equipped and - from the accommodation point of view - very versatile cars. Second Opinion:  A very fine engine, no question, and its weight doesn't seem to make much difference to the rather stodgy handling because the petrol ones are like that too. I think the SW shows more promise as a carrier of luggage than of people, since it won't really cope with more than four adults in any degree of comfort, and this might be worth considering for anyone who thinks they are about to buy a true mini-MPV.
